From The Man Himself:
"This board was developed from our Retro Fish but with a pin tail in place of the swallow. Short and wide(ish) with a modest rocker, flat deck, steep rails, firm edges, forward volume, and a healthy dose of tail lift and vee, this machine is a potent little weapon in small to semi-sizable Indonesian surf.
The logo was a collaborative effort too. A bright, bold, detailed illustration, with colors and context, colliding our ...LOST culture with Drifter’s.
The result is a wonderful throwback to detailed hand-drawn surfboard labels of yesteryear."
"Proud to unveil a special collaborative effort between…Lost Indo and Drifter Surf.
I’ve long been a fan of Bali’s aesthetic, her incredible waves, and the wild characters that have turned their backs on the world to live renegade lives revolving around Bali’s mystical surf. That is a given.
But there’s everything else, as well. The food and the beautiful chaos of Western expat design influenced by local customs, colors, and culture. Those exquisitely designed restaurants, villas, and retail stores are dizzying to me.
One of my favorites has always been Drifter.
A surf-minded shop in the Bukit that curates and merchandises authentic and diverse ocean wares in the most creative and intuitive ways. Over the last decade, having become friends with the people behind this brand, we’ve talked often about doing a project together. Now, we’ve finally made it happen.
Working closely with Drifter art director Chris Del Moro, we came up with a new board built for everyday Bukit conditions and packaged it up with the ornately exotic ethos that Drifter stands for.
We call it The Pin Fish."
