A bit about Hot Buttered:
When Terry Fitzgerald first broke onto the surfing scene in the late 1960s he was rapidly revered the world over as the Sultan of Speed due to his down-the-line attack and his ability to generate more projection across the face of a wave than almost anyone before him.
At what was the pinnacle of the shortboard revolution, Fitzgerald was struggling to find a board that would match his desire for speed. Establishing Hot Buttered in 1971, he set about pioneering shortboard designs with refined templates, honed rails, and the ability to accelerate beyond the vast majority of equipment available at that time.
Martyn Worthington had graduated art school when he happened upon an article in Tracks magazine about Fitzgerald. Inspired by what he read, Worthington wrote to Fitzgerald asking if he'd be willing to allow the young artist to unleash his creativity on the clean, white canvases of the shaper's foam blanks.
And so began an iconic, inimitable relationship that has spanned a half-century.
Drifter Uluwatu proudly presents Hot Buttered: a collection of original boards hand-shaped by The Sultan of Speed - Terry Fitzgerald - and hand-painted by the Tsar of Sprays - Martyn Worthington.
